PRESENTATION

Watchmaker Omega itself released this watch with the intent that it be taken in commemoration of the fortieth anniversary of the first EON Productions motion picture, Dr No, which premiered in 1962 [4,5]. However, this brand was not known to have been associated with James Bond until 1995, in GoldenEye.

Reference 2537.80 shared specifications with the screen-worn 2531.80 Seamaster James Bond watch, having differed only in a few aesthetics [6,7]. Unique packaging and materials were also included when these watches were purchased new from Authorized Dealers.

INSIGHTS

This was the first “James Bond watch” to have been produced by Omega that never appeared as worn on-screen. It is the only Omega commemorative associated with and released during the tenure of Pierce Brosnan as Agent 007.
